MIAMI LAKES Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Barry University Lady Bucs Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.  The tournament was played at Shula’s Golf Club and was filled with top-notch competition as 11 of the 15 teams were ranked in the top-25 of NCAA Division II.

Rollins College finished on top of the leaderboard this week, shooting 874 as a team during the 56-hole event.  They edged out Nova Southeastern University by one stroke, overtaking the Sharks in the final round.

PBA concluded the tournament 14th in the field, finishing with a final round of 354, which was 19 strokes less than their second round score and 20 strokes less than their first round score.  Four out of the five Sailfish golfers improved their score from the first round to the third round.

Sophomore Hayley Betz (87-89-83, 259), edged out Taryn Runnels (93-81-86, 260) by one stroke to shoot the best score for the Sailfish during the three round tournament.  They were followed by Emily Swidock (96-98-87, 281), Michelle Turner (98-105-98, 301), and Bailey Sprague (110-117-122,349).

The ‘Fish have the next couple weeks off, as they won’t be back in action until March 30th, when they travel to Pace, Fla. to play in the University of West Florida Argonaut Invitational.
