Women's Golf Wraps up Busy Week at Bulldog Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team continued their busy Spring Break week on Friday by concluding play at the Bulldog Florida Invitational hosted by Butler University. The tournament was played at Windsor Parke Golf Club.

The Sailfish finished in 8th place but made significant improvements between rounds one and two. Four of the five Sailfish golfers took 5 strokes or more off of their final round score. As a team the 'Fish started with a first round 389 on Thursday but came back with a round of 363 on Friday.

Youngtown State University won the tournament, shooting a final round of 310 to come all the way from 3rd place after the first round to take home the victory. Host Butler University came up just short and finished in second place just one stroke behind Youngstown State.

Taryn Runnels and Emily Swidok both led the Sailfish with final scores of 175. Sophomore Hayley Betz had the biggest score improvement between rounds one and two as she shot a 91 in the final round to finish at 198. Following Betz on the leaderboard were Michelle Turner (107-97, 204), and Bailey Sprague (113-108, 221).

The 'Fish have a quick turn-around once again, as they will compete in the Barry University Lady Bucs Invitational beginning on March 16th. Stay tuned for scores from all Sailfish golf events.
