Women's Golf Competes at Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE BEACH Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team completed play Tuesday afternoon at the Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler University.

The tournament included some of the toughest competition the Sailfish team will face this season.  Seven of the ten teams competing in the tournament are members of the NCAA Division I.

Butler University ran away with the tournament on Tuesday afternoon, winning by 14 strokes with Cleveland State University coming in second place.  PBA finished in 9th place overall, shooting a 400 on Monday and taking 20 strokes off of their team score on Tuesday with a final round 380. 

Freshman Taryn Runnels led the 'Fish at the tournament, shooting a 96 in the first round but coming back on Tuesday with an 86.  She finished at 37th on the leaderboard.  Following her for the Sailfish were Emily Swidok (90-94, 184), Hayley Betz (98-98-196), Michelle Turner (116-102, 218), and Bailey Sprague (122-162, 284).

The Sailfish have more Spring Break action later this week, as they will play in the Butler Bulldog Invitational starting on Wednesday in Jacksonville Beach.
