KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A short-handed Palm Beach Atlantic women’s tennis team traveled north to take on Saginaw Valley State in Kissimmee on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Cardinals 5-4.

Playing without senior number one Veena Vasquez, PBA pushed regionally-ranked Saginaw Valley to the brink. The Sailfish took two out of three in doubles, with Yoanna Peshev and Maja Jovic besting the number one pair 9-7, and the Valerie Nagovitcina and Dezi Bowman pulling out an 8-4 win at number three.

Singles gave the Sailfish a tough time, with Peshev and Jovic giving Palm Beach Atlantic their lone victories. Peshev, playing as the two, was victorious 6-7, 7-4, 10-9, and Jovic came out on top at number three by 6-3 and 6-0 scores.

The next time PBA hits the courts will be as part of the Hilton Head Spring Break Challenge when they take on Edinboro University at 8:00 am on Tuesday, March 10th.
