Sailfish Women's Golf Finishes 6th at Warner Invite

SEBRING, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic University Women’s Golf team wrapped up play at the 5th Annual Warner University Invitational on Tuesday afternoon played at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club.  The Sailfish were in sixth place after day one of competition but slipped a spot on the leaderboard and finished the tournament in seventh. 

Southeastern University finished atop the leaderboard, routing the rest of the field.  They finished with a 30 stroke cushion on second place Warner University. 

PBA, coming off a fifth place finish a week ago at the Start 2 Finish Classic in Lake Wales, Florida, finished with rounds of 394 and 412.  Sophomore Hayley Betz led the ‘Fish in scoring this tournament, finishing 18th on the overall leaderboard with rounds of 94 and 86.  Also with a top 25 finish was freshman Taryn Runnels, who carded rounds of 95 and 96 for the ‘Fish. Following them on the leaderboard were Michelle Turner (103-118, 221), and Bailey Sprague (110-112, 222).

The Sailfish Women’s Golf Team is back in action over Spring Break, when they travel to Jack Beach, Florida on March 10th, to participate in the Butler Bulldog Invitational.
