DAVIE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s basketball team was back in action on Monday night as they traveled to Nova Southeastern University and were taken down by the Sharks 76-67 from the NSU Arena.
NSU put together a spectacular shooting effort in the second half, shooting 56% (14-for-25) from the floor and 39% (5-for-13) from beyond the arc. Those eye-popping totals led to 41 points and helped the Sharks to the victory.
Palm Beach Atlantic had cut the lead to just two points with a little under six minutes remaining in the game, but the Sharks began to put distance between themselves and the Sailfish thanks to the long-range shot. NSU hit three of their 12 three pointers over the final four minutes of the game, and combined with free throws effectively put the game out of reach.
PBA put together a 41% (21-for-51) shooting percentage from the field for the game, and outrebounded the Sharks 40-26. Unfortunately the Sailfish were only able to force six turnovers while giving away 14 of their own.
Evin Graham poured in 23 points for the Sailfish while also grabbing five rebounds. Ronnell Ross had 13 points and eight boards, while Michael Simpson came off the bench to score 13 points while also grabbing five rebounds.
The final game of the 2014-15 campaign is coming on Saturday afternoon as Palm Beach Atlantic travels to St. Petersburg to take on Eckerd College at 4:00 pm.
