Men's Basketball Hits the Century Mark as Seniors Shine in 119-58 Win Over Johnson

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish men’s basketball team sent their five member senior class out in style on Saturday afternoon as they turned back Johnson (Fla.) University by a score of 119-58 before a big crowd at the Rubin Arena. The ‘Fish saw career-highs from Ronnell Ross and Garet Tucker in the victory that saw Palm Beach Atlantic knock down a season-high 17 three-pointers.

Ross paced all scorers in the game with a career night of 30 points on 12-of-22 shooting while adding in 12 rebounds. Tucker was next in line with 27 points on 11-of-19 from the floor including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc for the 6’7” Rapids City, South Dakota native.

Fellow seniors Clayton Williams and Evin Graham also had special nights with Graham falling just four rebounds shy of his first career triple double as he added in 11 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. Williams added 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to go with a team-high six steals.

Junior Derek Yepes also contributed double-digits on the night with 11 points off the bench while hitting on 3-of-6 shots from long-range.

As a team the ‘Fish were active from beyond the three-point arc as they knocked down 17-of-46 for 37-percent while finishing the game overall at 46-of-100 from the field.

The game started off with the ‘Fish on fire as Palm Beach Atlantic connected on their first four attempts from long-range on their way to a quick 21-2 lead.

PBA would cruise into halftime leading 63-30 and never look back.

The Sailfish will be back to road action for their final two games as they will take on Nova Southeastern University on Monday, Feb. 23rd while battling Eckerd College on Saturday, Feb. 28th to close out the season.
