MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s tennis suffered their first setback of the 2015 season on Tuesday afternoon, falling to ITA No. 1 ranked Barry University on the road 9-0.

The Buccaneers (1-0) defeated the Sailfish (3-1) in each doubles and singles while producing straight set wins in singles at No. 5 and doubles with No. 2.

The ‘Fish best opportunity for a win came at Nos. 1 and 3-doubles as the pairing of Veena Vasquez and Valerie Nagovitcina as well as Leyla Taracena and Michaela were defeated each defeated 8-4. Barry’s No. 1-doubles tandem of Linda Fritschken and Emma Onila is the No. 1 ranked duo in the country, while five of the Bucs are ranked nationally ranked in singles.

Palm Beach Atlantic will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14th when they host Rollins College at 10:30 am.
