Kasey Wyer Named to the All-ICAA Listing

TIFFIN, Ohio- Junior Kasey Wyer was named on Wednesday to the Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) postseason team for her efforts as a member of the Sailfish women’s soccer team. This marks the third straight season for Wyer being named to the All-ICAA team.

The ICAA is composed of NCAA Division II schools that are not in a conference.  Women’s soccer members are California State University- San Marcos, Chowan University, Concordia-Irvine, Concordia-Portland, Embry Riddle (Fla.), Oakland City University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Southern Wesleyan University and Spring Hill College. The All-ICAA selections are made by ICAA Director, Mike Bond.

Wyer hails from Greer, S.C. and led the Sailfish this season in both goals and assists as she poured in a team-high five goals and five assists for a total of 15 points.

She started all 15 games for Palm Beach Atlantic this year while finishing as one of five players on the squad to play at least 1,000 minutes on the year as she accumulated 1,276 minutes of field time.

The ICAA Coach of the Year went to Samantha Bohon who led Embry-Riddle to a 15-1 record and won the ICAA championship.  Bohon is 110-44-5 in eight years at ERAU.

Player of the Year was mid-fielder Ailee Thompson of Oklahoma Baptist.  She had 15 goals with four assists for 34 points in 18 games.  She had four game-winning goals.

Freshman of the Year was Mikayla Lowery of Oklahoma Baptist.  Lowery, a forward, had 10 goals with six assists for 26 points in 18 games with five game-winning goals.
