WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Senior Branden Langenberg was selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Team for District 5 as named by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Langenberg, who was also on the 2013 Academic All-District Team, has started 8-of-15 matches this season and has played 987 minutes with one assist. The primary reason for this award is for the work Branden has put in in the classroom. The management major from Jacksonville, Florida, holds a 3.80 grade point average in his third year at Palm Beach Atlantic.
The 12-member team was released Thursday afternoon. To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must have maintained at least a 3.30 grade point average, been enrolled at the University for at least one year and been either a starter or significant contributor on the field.
The team voted on by the South Region Sports Information Directors which makes up the Sunshine State Conference (SSC), Gulf South Conference (GSC) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAC).
Because he was named to the All-District Team, Langenberg is now eligible to be selected to the Capital One Academic All-American Team to be announced later this month.
