WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- As they have done quite a bit lately, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team welcomed in a team from the North to the Sunshine State and once again turned them away with a loss. The Sailfish defeated Hastings College 7-0 on Thursday afternoon.
After sweeping the doubles portion of the match with relative ease, the Fish and Hastings moved on to singles competition where top duo Brock Newton and Paul Segodo each won their sets with a comfortable advantage.
Number five and six singles players for PBA, John Tilton and Brett Gibson, also came through with solid victories while Lukas Colombo and Frankie Moulton were both leading their sets before the match was called.
Now 13-5 on the season, PBA will turn its attention to West Alabama University on Thursday, March 27th as the Fish host both a men’s and women’s match at the South Olive Tennis Center. This match will also be the final home match of the year and “Senior Day” for Newton and Segodo.
