Box Score

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish men’s soccer team kept the undefeated Rinker Athletic Campus streak alive on Wednesday evening by taking down St. Thomas (Fla.) University by a score of 4-0. Freshman Lucas DaSilva scored once in each half while Jermaine Metz and Daniel Pena also added in goals for the ‘Fish as they improved to 3-1-1 on the season.

Head coach Brian McMahon was able to utilize his deep bench once again as he saw field time for a total of 22 field players while seeing goals for the first time this season from both DaSilva and Metz. Pena’s goal added to his team-leading points total as the senior from Bogota, Columbia now has three goals and three assists (9 points).

Goalkeeper Steeven Raymont made a number of key saves late to preserve the shutout as he and the PBA defense posted a clean sheet for the second straight contest.

The scoring began in the 10th minute when Metz tallied an unassisted goal to give the Blue and White an early lead.

Things would remain 1-0 in favor of the home team until late in the first-half when junior Eddy Milien found DaSilva for a goal as PBA took a 2-0 advantage into halftime.

It wouldn’t take long for Palm Beach Atlantic to add to their tally in the second-half as Pena received an assist from Lucas Kuscevic in the 52nd minute to push the lead to 3-0.

DaSilva chipped in with a penalty kick score in the 80th minute to cap the scoring for PBA at 4-0.

The ‘Fish ended the night leading in shots (11-8) and corner kicks (6-3) while Raymont made five saves in goal.

PBA will now hit the road for a long weekend trip through the Southeast as they will do battle with King (Tenn.) University on Saturday, Sept. 20th at 3 pm followed by a match on Monday, Sept. 22nd at Bob Jones (S.C.) University at 6 pm.
