Women's XC Finishes 8th At UT Early Bird Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s cross country team participated in the University of Tampa Early Bird Classic on Friday, placing eighth in their second race of the season.

Vilja Vahatalo was once again the top runner for PBA, coming in with a time of 22:06:08 to lead the Sailfish. Fellow newcomer Kayla Webbe came in second for the ‘Fish at 22:25:20, followed by Lexi Fenton at 23:15:70, Jessica Sexton (23:16:20) and Faith Russell (26:22:00).

As a team, Palm Beach Atlantic came in eighth place with 233 points. The University of South Florida came away with the victory with just 30 team points, followed by closely Tampa, then Saint Leo, Nova Southeastern, Florida Southern, Pasco-Hernando CC, and Lynn University to follow.

The Sailfish will be back in action on Saturday, September 24th at the Valdosta Invitational hosted by Valdosta State University.
