WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – It was a dramatic finish at the Rinker Athletic Campus on Tuesday evening with Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Tech coming to a 2-2 draw after two hard-fought overtimes.

The Sailfish had to battle back the entire night, with Florida Tech putting a tally on the board in just the 10th minute of the game with a put-back goal. Fortunately for PBA, Daniel Pena was able to find the back of the net in the 26th minute with a beautifully struck ball that found the upper 90 to tie the score 1-1.

Shortly after the halftime break FIT struck for the go-ahead goal, but once again the Sailfish would not be deterred. Junior Tom Gavin came through a minute later with a blast from beyond the 18 for his first goal of the season and the equalizer.

Both teams would get their opportunities in the remainder of the half, including another rocket from Gavin the banged the crossbar, but neither team could cash in.

Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Tech were nearly even in shots, with the Panthers totaling 14 and the Sailfish 13. Both teams took four corners and PBA led the fouls, 17-16.

The Sailfish return to action on Friday, September 12th at the Lynn University Soccer Classic, taking on Lee University in Boca Raton at 4:30 PM.
