ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team got a late goal from junior Kasey Wyer to send their matchup with Catawba College into overtime, but ultimately fell 3-2 in the Flagler College Tournament on Sunday morning.

PBA opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a goal from freshman Audrey Decker on the assist from Laura Geisler. The 1-0 lead held until shortly after halftime, when Catawba scored on a rebound shot to tie the score. The Indians added another tally later in the second half to take a 2-1 lead that looked like it may hold for the final.

That’s when Wyer, who scored the lone Sailfish goal on Friday, got a beautiful feed from freshman Lexy Gonzalez in the 87th minute to knot the score. Unfortunately for the ‘Fish, Catawba would head home the game winner in the 97th minute.

Palm Beach Atlantic totaled 17 shots in the game, including seven on goal. Catawba had 23 total shots and 10 on goal, with Kayla Wincko making seven saves in the game for the Sailfish.

PBA makes their debut at the Rinker Athletic Campus on Friday night, September 12th against Valdosta State at 7 PM.
