Women's Soccer Announces Upcoming Season Schedule

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Newly named head coach Chris Gnehm and the Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer program will have a challenging 2014 schedule with the announcement on Tuesday of a 17-match slate. The team will host five regular season matches at the Rinker Athletic Campus including their first-ever match at the new complex on September 12th versus Valdosta State University.

The team will open play at the Flagler College Tournament in St. Augustine, Fla. on Sept. 5 and 7 by taking on South Region opponents in Nova Southeastern University and Catawba College respectively. The Sailfish have participated in the season-opening tournament hosted by FC for the past three seasons and posted a 4-1-1 record during that time including a pair of wins over Catawba.

Following the home opener versus VSU on Sept. 12th the team will hit the road for a match at Eckerd College on Sept. 16th followed by a two-match swing versus BYU-Hawaii and Holy Names University in Arcata, Calif. on Sept. 19-20.

The team’s second home match will see them take on Lynn University at 5 pm on Sept. 24th while rounding out the month of September at Florida Southern College on Sept. 27th.

A busy stretch throughout October witnesses the ‘Fish traveling to important South Region opponents such as Saint Leo University (Oct. 8), Barry University (Oct. 16) and Florida Tech (Oct. 25) while also set to do battle with NCAA Division I, Florida Gulf Coast University on Oct. 22nd. 

The end of the month sees the team begin a three-match home swing as they will host Rollins College (Oct. 27) and the University of Tampa (Oct. 30) while playing host to Johnson and Wales University for the team’s final home match on Nov. 1st.

A trip to north Georgia and South Carolina will wrap up the regular season as PBA will take on Southern Wesleyan University with a match on Nov. 7 and Emmanuel College on Nov. 8.
