SKILLMAN, N.J.- After successful campaigns by both Palm Beach Atlantic tennis programs both squads find themselves ranked No. 44 in their respective postseason national rankings released on Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Sailfish men’s team concluded their season with a solid 14-12 overall record and a trip to the NCCAA national semi-finals while the women’s team continued their recent run of strong campaigns with a 14-9 overall record.

With both programs under the direction of head coach Chi Ly the PBA tennis programs appear primed to continue their development as they move closer to provisional membership in the tradition-rich Sunshine State Conference (SSC) beginning in July.

The ITA national rankings on the men’s side feature six SSC teams in the top-50 while the women have an even bigger presence with eight of the leagues members ranked within the top-50 including 2014 NCAA Division II National Champion Barry University.

The Sailfish women’s tennis team was included in the ITA national rankings throughout the entire 2013-14 season by debuting at No. 30 in the preseason rankings and maintaining their ranking throughout the fall and spring seasons.

Palm Beach Atlantic’s men’s team debuted at No. 44 in the rankings released on April 30, 2014 and maintained that position into the postseason’s ranking.

The University of West Florida, another NCAA South Region foe, earned the top spot in the final ITA rankings after claiming the NCAA Division II team title.
