Nicolas Uryson Nets Second NCCAA Player of the Week Honor

GREENVILLE, S.C.- Palm Beach Atlantic sophomore Nicolas Uryson was announced earlier this week as the men’s tennis honoree for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week. This is the second time this season that Uryson has been selected for the NCCAA weekly award which highlights an outstanding student-athlete for each sport.
Uryson was also named the NCCAA Player of the Week early in the season on February 5th for his strong play. He also been recognized recently by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the No. 47-ranked player in Division II.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Uryson is in his first season with the Sailfish and has helped lead the squad to an 11-10 mark so far in the 2014 campaign.
This past week he went undefeated in singles as the ‘Fish faced a pair of top-5 ranked Division II teams in Saint Leo University and Barry University. In doubles, his record was 1-1 with a win over Saint Leo and a close loss to No. 3-ranked Barry Universities’ doubles tandem at 8-6.
