PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic and Barry University treated Saturday’s Senior Day crowd to a splendid pitcher’s duel, with the visiting Buccaneers coming away with a 2-1 victory from Palm Beach Gardens High School.

After the slugfest on Friday night that saw 22 runs, 27 hits and five errors, Saturday's matinee turned in a total of three runs on 10 hits with neither team committing an error.

Sailfish starter Ryan Cota (Loss, 3-3) pitched seven strong innings and allowed just one earned run on four hits. Unfortunately, he was outdone by Bucs’ starter Calvin Rayburn, who went the distance allowing just one run on six hits.

Barry manufactured a run to get on the board in the third inning and added the eventual game-winner without the luxury of a hit in the fifth. PBA would pull it within a run thanks to a Joel Buchko RBI single, but couldn’t come up with the big hit late in the game.

The ‘Fish left the tying run stranded at third in both the eighth and ninth innings.

Senior Ryan Drew smacked two base-hits and made a few highlight-worthy plays at first base in the game, while fellow seniors Buchko, Ethan Perla, Anthony Ortiz, and Spencer Castro tallied the rest of the Sailfish hits.

Palm Beach Atlantic concludes the series with Barry on Sunday afternoon with a nine-inning affair slated to begin at 1 PM.
