Women's Golf Hits the Road to Compete in the Argonaut Invitational

West Florida took home team titles in both Argonaut Invitationals with the UWF men posting a run-away three-round win of 848 (285-280-283) while the women’s team earned the title following a 926 (304-308-314) team score.
The Sailfish men’s team posted a 997 (330-332-335) three-round performance to finish 10th in what was a loaded field of solid programs from the NCAA Division I and II ranks.
Bryan Gagnon concluded the tournament with the top PBA tally of 235 (79-75-81) while Miquel LaRocque, Ben Murray and Will Joiner all followed behind. LaRocque finished second on the team with a 242 (81-81-80) while Murray (79-84-83) and Joiner (91-92-91) were not far behind with a 246 and 274 respectively.
Derek Oland of Midwestern State University cruised to the medalist honors of the tournament with an impressive eight stroke victory as he posted a 203 (62-66-75) three-round tally. UWF had three men’s golfers finish in the top five of the tournament.
On the women’s side three PBA performers took part in the ladies tournament as Allie Puchferran, Hayley Betz and Jenny Kowal made the journey to Pensacola.
Puchferran continued her trend as the team leader with a 261 (81-97-83) three round score followed by Betz (105-91-96) at 292 and Kowal sitting at 315 (108-102-105). The trio competed as individuals without a team score.
Clare Connolly of Saint Leo University earned the women’s individual title with a 226 (77-76-73) beating out UWF’s Daisy-May Kenny by three strokes as she concluded the tournament with a 229 (76-76-78).
