LaRocque's top-10 Finish Leads the Way for PBA Golf at the Bulldog Florida Invitational

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish golf teams traveled to Jacksonville Beach this week to participate in the Bulldog Florida Invitational hosted by Butler University as they continue play this spring as a new sport offering at Palm Beach Atlantic. The team had three men’s golfers compete while Jenny Kowal represented the women’s team.
Miquel LaRocque led the way with a two-round score of 156 (77-79) to finish eighth in the competitive field. Following his good work was Bryan Gagnon with a 163 (84-79) and Ben Murray with a 166 (82-84).
The host Bulldogs earned the team title with a combined 608 cumulative team score to finish 14 strokes ahead of Savannah State University at 622. The U.S. Naval Academy (635), Florida A&M University (645) and Eastern Illinois University (657) rounded out the top-five team finishes.
Joey Arcuri of Butler earned the individual medalist honors with a 143 (70-73) to finish a comfortable six strokes ahead of Savannah State’s Scott Rogers at 149 (75-74).
On the women’s side, Kowal tallied a 213 (106-107) in her two rounds as the lone Sailfish women’s golf representation over Spring Break.
The men will be in action this weekend at the Florida Tech Invitational in Melbourne, Fla. while the women’s team is slated to compete in the Lady Bucs Invitational in Miami Shores.
