Veena Vasquez and Romain Nowaczyk Earn NCCAA Player of the Week Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C.- With both Sailfish tennis teams busy during the Spring Break week with nearly a match a day the teams saw two of their members honored for their past week’s performances. Junior Veena Vasquez and graduate student Romain Rowaczyk were each selected as the NCCAA National Player of the Week for tennis.

Vasquez, a junior from Boynton Beach, Fla. went undefeated 3-0 last week in both No. 1-singles and No. 1-doubles as the Sailfish went undefeated in their last three matches against Webber International University, Minnesota State University-Mankato and Stonehill College.

Nowaczyk, a senior from Angers, France, went undefeated 3-0 at No. 2-singles and 2-1 in doubles this past week as he helped the Sailfish defeat No. 21-ranked (NAIA) Webber International and Montana State-Billings.

The duo joins past NCCAA Player of the Week recipients from this year’s teams in: Liddy Robinson, Jessica Wharton, Nicolas Uryson and Mark Heimberger.
