Sailfish Finish 11th at the Warner Invitational

SEBRING, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf team performed well at the Warner Invitational this week by firing off a two-day team score of 690 on their way to an 11th place finish among 13 teams. The teams competed at the fourth annual WU Invitational by playing at the Sun n’ Lake golf club in Sebring, Fla.

Freshman Ben Murray finished just outside the top-20 as he continues to show improvement in his first collegiate season. The Clearwater, Fla. native and former Calvary Christian High School product completed rounds of 76-78 to finish tied for 22nd in the field at 154.

Following right behind was newcomer Miquel LaRocque at 160 (82-78) while Bryan Gagnon was up next with a 162 (83-79). Newcomer Will Joiner came through with a solid PBA debut as he managed a 177 (88-89) to give the Sailfish their fourth strong showing of the tournament.

Faulkner (Ala.) University earned the team title with a 587 team score while Webber International University (589) and Warner (591) were close in the end. Embry-Riddle and Thomas University rounded out the top-five.

On the individual side it was Claes Isakson of Webber who earned medalist honors with a 140 (71-69) which narrowly defeated Daniel Jansen of Faulker who shot a 141 (71-70).

The team will continue their spring schedule by participating in the Butler Bulldog Invitational from Jacksonville, Fla. on Mar. 12-13.
