Women's Tennis Ranked No. 38 in First ITA Poll

SKILLMAN, N.J.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released their first NCAA Division II team rankings on Wednesday afternoon with the Sailfish women’s team coming in at No. 38 in the first national release. Competing within the always-strong South Region, the women find themselves just outside the regional top-10 with six regional teams being named to the national top-10.
The Sailfish are currently 4-5 on the season with matches scheduled next week against Montana State-Billings and Webber International University before hitting the road over Spring Break for a total of seven matches in the Orlando, Fla. area.
Other institutions joining PBA in representing the South Region in the rankings include Barry University (No. 3), Lynn (No. 6), University of West Florida (No. 7), Saint Leo University (No. 8), Rollins College (No. 9), Florida Southern College (No. 10), Nova Southeastern University (No. 15), Florida Tech (No. 18), Valdosta State University (No. 20) and the University of Tampa (No. 23).
Armstrong Atlantic State University sits at No. 1 overall followed by BYU-Hawaii while Columbus State rounds out the top-five in the team rankings.
PBA was ranked No. 30 in the fall ITA rankings.
The ITA will release new regional and national rankings on March 19th while also releasing individual rankings in singles and doubles.
