Men's Golf Begins Spring Season at the Webber Start 2 Finish Classic

LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf program took to the Lake Wales Country Club for their first spring tournament this past weekend as they continue to embark on their first season back as a varsity sport at PBA. The team saw three players compete with newcomer Miquel LaRocque leading the team with a three-round score of 234 to finish 20th in the field of the Start 2 Finish Classic hosted by Webber International University.
LaRocque was joined by Bryan Gagnon (76-76-81) who finished tied for 23rd in the tournament as Gagnon finished with a 235 overall score. Freshman Ben Murray rounded out the team’s participants with a 238 (80-77-81) to give the ‘Fish three players in the top-33 individual finishers.
Warner University (887) claimed the team title with a 12-stroke win over Webber International while the University of Tampa (924) rounded out the top three men’s team finishers.
Daniel Bova of Warner University took home medalist honors with a three-round tally of 73-72-76 for a 221, just one stroke ahead of teammate Jake Levens.
The Sailfish return to action this weekend by participating in the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational in Ormond Beach, Fla.
