WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish baseball team will once again kick off their season in style by hosting two opponents at Roger Dean Stadium this week beginning with a matchup with Lynn University on Monday at 7 pm. All Palm Beach Atlantic games at Roger Dean Stadium are free and open to the public with the ‘Fish also set to host Delta State University on Friday, Feb. 7th at 7 pm.
Roger Dean Stadium is the Spring Training home of the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB) while serving as the home site for two Minor League Baseball (MiLB) franchises during the summer months in the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Palm Beach Cardinals.
The Sailfish will look to run their Roger Dean winning streak versus Lynn to three straight years if they are able to knock of the Fighting Knights on Monday evening. PBA earned an exciting 3-2 walk-off win in 2012 while defeating LU 5-2 in last season’s matchup at the ‘Dean.
The Fighting Knights are coming off a solid 30-20 season in 2013 and split the overall season series with the Sailfish at 2-2. Palm Beach Atlantic finished the year with a 28-23 overall record.
Friday night’s matchup with Delta State will see the Sailfish welcome in one of the preseason’s top-ranked teams in the Statesmen who put together a 44-11-1 season a year ago while reaching the NCAA Regional Tournament. Following Friday night’s series opener the two teams will square off on Saturday and Sunday with both games beginning at 1 pm at the Roger Dean backfields.
For those that cannot make the games at Roger Dean Stadium in person, a live video broadcast as well as live statistics will be provided.
