PBA Can't Take Down Eckerd on the Road, Fall 78-71

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s basketball team couldn’t overcome a 13-2 run by Eckerd College that ended the first half and fell short on the road Saturday afternoon, 78-71.
The Sailfish took a 25-24 lead on a Kimmi McIntosh jumper with 4:01 remaining in the opening half, but the Tritons came back with a vengeance to close the half. The home team with 2-for-3 from behind the three-point line and knocked down a pair of regular field goals over the final four minutes to give them the lead for good.
Offense wasn’t the problem for the ‘Fish in this contest, shooting 38% (22-for-58) from the floor for the game, but defensively they struggled. Eckerd shot 45% (25-for-56) from the floor and 42% (10-for-24) from behind the three-point line. PBA did win the rebounding battle, 39-36.
PBA was led in scoring by Kasie Parker, who finished the game with 26 points. The senior knocked down three triples in the game and also went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. She was joined in double-figures by fellow senior Jaz Green, who finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
Palm Beach Atlantic returns to action on Wednesday night, traveling south to Fort Lauderdale to take on nationally ranked Nova Southeastern University, beginning at 5 PM.
