Andrea Jefferson Selected to NSCAA Scholar All-South Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan.- The Sailfish women’s soccer team and senior Andrea Jefferson added another postseason accolade to their list of accomplishments from the 2013 season when Jefferson was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Scholar All-South Region first-team. The West Palm Beach native and PBA nursing major is the first in program history to earn the prestigious academic distinction.
Boasting a 3.79 cumulative grade-point average and a starting position the past four seasons on the Sailfish women’s soccer team, Jefferson has continued to make an impact on and off the field.
Her accolades have been widely recognized for her play as a defensive standout for head coach James Kryger and she is now earned the honor of being the first Sailfish to be named to the NSCAA All-South Region first-team for academics.
On the season Jefferson tallied two goals and two assists for six points while starting all 18 games on the year. She also played a team-high 1,656 minutes in helping lead the young ‘Fish team this season.
The NSCAA breaks down the country into two divisions (University and College) as well as four regions (East, North/Central, South and West) with all non-NCAA Division I players falling in the College division while PBA is a member of the South Region.
