TIFFIN, Ohio – After a solid showing as a team last week, Palm Beach Atlantic women’s basketball sophomore guard Kristie Mason was honored by the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) as the Player of the Week for her play.

The ICAA for basketball  is Bluefield State, Oakland City, Palm Beach Atlantic, Spring Hill, South Dakota School of Mines, Union and Washington Adventist.  The awards was picked by ICAA Director Mike Bond.

Mason, an Alpharetta, Ga. native , averaged 17 points per game in the two Sailfish victories from last week.  She scored 19 points and hit three triples to kick off 2014 in PBA’s 66-54 win over fellow ICAA member South Dakota Mines.  Mason also scored a team-high 15 points with three more three-pointers in a 64-61 victory vs. Lynn.

Palm Beach Atlantic returns to action this week in a road matchup with Barry University on Wednesday night and a home contest against No. 4 Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon.
