MELBOURNE, Fla. – A treacherous start doomed Palm Beach Atlantic against Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon, with the hosts rolling to a 74-57 victory in the championship game of the Carmax Holiday Tournament.

After taking down No. 24 Shaw University to open up the tournament, PBA scuffled out of the gate, going without a basket for the first 10:26. FIT scored the first 20 points of the contest and never looked back.

The Sailfish came back with a strong second half, shooting 67% (14-for-21) from the field and 80% (4-for-5) from the three-point line, but the twenty-three point halftime deficit was too much to overcome.

PBA was led in scoring once again by Kasie Parker, who finished the game with 14 points and six rebounds. Fellow senior Jaz Green scored 11 points while sophomore Kimmi McIntosh added a career-best nine points with an additional six assists.

Parker and Green were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts over the weekend. Parker finished the weekend with 46 points for the weekend, while Green finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Palm Beach Atlantic puts a wrap on the 2013 portion of the season and looks forward to hosting South Dakota School of Mines on Thursday, January 2nd, at 5 PM.
