Sailfish Stymied By Spartans' D, Fall 69-46

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s basketball didn’t have what it took Saturday afternoon to slow down the University of Tampa offense, falling to the Spartans 69-46 in the Rubin Arena.
UT came out with a scoring barrage in the first half, connecting on 52% (16-of-31) of their shots from the field and 50% (5-of-10) from behind the three-point line. Meanwhile, PBA managed just 30% (8-of-27) from the floor, and faced a 16-point halftime deficit.
The second half didn’t fare much better for the ‘Fish, with Tampa ending the day with a 46% (27-of-59) shooting percentage. Palm Beach Atlantic brought their totals up in the second half, but managed just 32% (17-of-54) from the floor for the game.
Senior guard Kasie Parker continued her fine season with another double-digit scoring performance, this time finishing with 19 points. She also brought down four rebounds, swiped three steals, and dished out two assists. The only other ‘Fish to reach double-digits was senior Jaz Green, who also finished with a team-high five rebounds.
The Spartans owned the paint against the Sailfish, outscoring PBA 34-20, and taking the rebound battle 43-31.
Palm Beach Atlantic returns to the Rubin Arena on Tuesday evening, taking on the Florida Tech Panthers at 5 P.M.
