KANSAS CITY, Kan.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s soccer program continues to stand for excellence on and off the field as evidenced by the announcement of the Sailfish earning the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. The 2013 season marks the sixth straight season under head coach James Kryger that the team has earned the distinction.
In order for a NCAA Division II program to earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award a team must compile a team grade point average of at least a 3.0.
This past year the Sailfish produced a team GPA of 3.21 to earn the distinction.
A total of 870 collegiate soccer teams (273 men, 597 women) across all divisions were named for the 2012-13 academic year. Of that total, 189 schools including PBA had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
