PBA Women's Tennis Debuts at No. 30 in the Preseason ITA Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J.- While the Sailfish tennis teams won’t be suiting up again for a few months the team was recognized on Wednesday as the No. 30-ranked team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) preseason national rankings. The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s team has been consistently ranked for the last several seasons while competing in arguably the toughest region in NCAA Division II.
Armstrong Atlantic State University sits at No. 1 in the team rankings followed by BYU-Hawaii and South Region foe Barry University at No. 3.
Other South Region institutions in the top-30 include Lynn University (No. 6), the University of West Florida (No. 7), Saint Leo University (No. 8), Rollins College (No. 9), Florida Southern College (No. 11), Florida Tech (No. 15), Valdosta State University (No. 16) and the University of Tampa (No. 22).
The Sailfish reached as high as No. 21 in last season’s ITA rankings.
Under the leadership of head coach Chi Ly, the Sailfish women’s tennis team will begin play during the Spring season at the beginning of February.
