CLEARWATER, Fla.- The Sailfish women’s soccer team continued their stretch of dominating overall effort on Thursday evening by traveling across the state to take on Clearwater Christian College for their final regular season contest. The ‘Fish received goals from defenders Andrea Jefferson and Karina White while limiting their opponent to no goals for a fourth straight match.

A goal in each half would be all it would take for the Sailfish (8-6-2) to earn their eighth win of the season as they also posted their eighth shutout.

Jefferson got the team on the board in the 26th minute for a 1-0 lead over the Cougars. Kierstyn Harrington delivered a corner kick into the box that found the head of White whose pass found Jefferson waiting for the strike for her second goal of the season.

White added to her recent scoring surge down the stretch  with her fifth goal of the year in the 71st minute as she sent a long ball in over the goalkeeper’s head following a Marissa Pacheco pass.

PBA put a total of 16 shots on the Cougars’ defense while the Sailfish were faced with only six shots and just one corner kick from Clearwater Christian.

Allison Fox made five saves in goal for the Sailfish as she posted her fourth straight shutout in goal.

PBA will now wait on postseason seeding in the upcoming NCCAA Regional Tournament.
