MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Palm Beach Atlantic took care of business on Saturday night on the road in  Memphis, taking down Christian Brothers University 5-2 behind Kenny Hogg’s hat trick from Signaigo Field.

The Sailfish came into the contest knowing they needed to win in order to keep their post season hopes alive. The first goal of the game came on a beautiful cross from Kevin Ireland that Brandon Langenberg headed in for the goal.

Just a few minutes later, Evan Singlar broke loose down the sideline and launched a cross toward the goal. It looked as if the pass had gone awry, but instead found the back of the net to put PBA up 2-0.

From then on it became the Kenny Hogg show on offense. With the first half winding down, Hogg deposited his first goal of the night into net. Wanting to build off the 3-0 halftime advantage, the Sailfish came out and scored within 90 seconds of the start of the first half. This time, Kenny took advantage of a missed clearance and converted from close range.

The Buccaneers would hang around, scoring goals in the 53rd and 74th minutes, but the Sailfish stood pat. Hogg netted his team-leading 20th goal of the season in the 70th minute, this time off a beautiful assist from Melo Matutu, and all but sealed the deal for PBA.

Offensively, Palm Beach Atlantic outshot host Christian Brothers 12-7, including a 52 advantage in shots on goal, and also took more corners (5-3).

PBA returns to action on Monday, traveling to Jackson, Tennessee to take on Union University at 1:00 PM.
