WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish women’s soccer team closed out the home portion of their 2013 schedule on Friday afternoon by welcoming Johnson & Wales University to Magic Jack Field on another gorgeous day for soccer. The victory would be in hand early for Palm Beach Atlantic as the ‘Fish rolled to a 6-0 win over the Wildcats while celebrating Senior Day at halftime with a ceremony honoring Allison Fox and Andrea Jefferson.

The senior pair for PBA have both served as four-year starters with Fox never missing a starting assignment in her four years as the Sailfish goalkeeper. Both were honored with gifts, hugs and happy memories from their teammates and coaches during halftime while going out with a victory in the process.

The shutout gives the ‘Fish their second straight scoreless effort with Fox in goal while Karina White, Margaret Stewart and Laura Geisler all played the full 90 minutes. Jefferson and Fox were each lifted with a few minutes remaining as a way to honor them in front of the home fans.

Junior Lesslee Hernandez scored the opening goal for PBA in just the fourth minute when sophomore Elizabeth Gonzalez delivered a long kick over the defensive line for JWU that resulted in an easy tap in for Hernandez.

Less than six minutes later came another score this time Gonzalez receiving a helper from Hernandez and Bridget Wollrabe for the 2-0 lead.

Kasey Wyer was part of the next two goals as she rocketed home her sixth goal of the season in the 21st minute then assisted on Karina White’s fourth goal of the year in the 29th minute as White banged in a header to push the advantage to 4-0.

PBA would add two more scores in the second-half with Carson Mitchell and Kierstyn Harrington each finding the back of the net to close out the 6-0 victory.

The Sailfish finished the match with a 17-4 lead in shots and an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Fox made one save in goal during the shutout.

PBA will hit the road for a match on Sunday, Nov. 3rd when they take on Georgia Southwestern University at 2:30 pm in Americus, Ga.
