WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – In a battle of two NSCAA Top 25 teams, No. 21 Palm Beach Atlantic couldn’t keep pace with No. 2 Rollins College, falling 5-0 at Magic Jack Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The first half was a spectator’s dream, with multiple chances for both teams, and a hard fought contest ensuing. The Tars got on the board early with a score in the seventh minute, and that total would stand for the rest of the half. PBA got close with a Daniel Pena blast on a beautiful feed from Kenny Hogg, but it banged off the post and the Sailfish never threatened again.

The veteran Tars squad took over all aspects of the game in the second half, and made Palm Beach Atlantic pay for every mistake made. After outshooting PBA 13-4 in the first half, the Tars controlled play in the second stanza as well, outshooting the ‘Fish 9-2 and scoring four goals. Palm Beach Atlantic managed just two shots on goal in the entire match.

Even with five goals finding net, keeper Austin Spagnola’s play was commendable. The sophomore made 11 saves in total, with many of them being highlight-reel worthy.

Palm Beach Atlantic falls to 7-2-1 on the season, with an important match on Saturday, October 26th, with University of Montevallo in Gainesville. The Sailfish return to Magic Jack Field on Monday, October 28th, making up a previously rained-out match with the University of Tampa.
