Coutinho Named ICAA Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio – The awards keep mounting for Palm Beach Atlantic’s freshman sensation Lucas Coutinho, as he was named the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association’s (ICAA) Player of the week for his outstanding efforts last week.

The ICAA for men's soccer is Chowan, Oakland City, Palm Beach Atlantic, Spring Hill, Union and Washington Adventist.  The award was picked by ICAA Director Mike Bond.

Coutinho tallied four goals and one assist for nine points in two matches last week, including a hat trick against South Region foe Eckerd College. The rookie is now fourth in the NCAA DII in goals per game (1.13) and fifth in points per game (2.63).

Palm Beach Atlantic has represented the ICAA Player of the Week for each week this season, with senior forward Kenny Hogg receiving the honor three times.

The Sailfish are back in action tomorrow in a key matchup against the Florida Tech Panthers, starting at 3:00 PM from Magic Jack Field.
