Sailfish Offense Ignites 5-2 Victory Over Crusaders

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish finished off their South Carolina swing in fine fashion on Monday afternoon, rolling to a 5-2 victory over the host North Greenville University Crusaders at Pepsi Stadium.
Senior Kenny Hogg and freshman Lucas Coutinho had spectacular scoring afternoons, with both players registering two goals, and Hogg adding two assists as well. For Kenny, it gives him eight goals on the year and a total of 19 points. Lucas now has three goals to go along with two assists for eight total points.
It took some time for the teams to feel each other out, but Kenny Hogg came through in the 20th minute on a penalty kick to put PBA out front, 1-0.
Shortly after North Greenville tied it up in the 36th minute, the Sailfish unleashed an offensive fury. The scoring started with Coutinho’s first goal of the contest, assisted by Hogg. Less than a minute later, Hogg deposited his second goal of the match to make it 3-1. With the halftime break approaching, Coutinho added his second goal of the game to give PBA a commanding 4-1 lead.
The Crusaders tacked on their second goal of the match in the 58th minute of the contest, this time coming off a penalty kick. PBA put the match out of reach in the 72nd minute, with Melo Matutu scoring his first goal of the season on an assist from Kenny Hogg.
Overall, Palm Beach Atlantic outshot North Greenville 19-8, including a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Sailfish improve to 3-1-1 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 3-5.
The Sailfish are back in action on Wednesday night against South Florida rival Barry University, with first kick slated for 7:00 PM.
