SAINT LEO, Fla. – After taking a first-half lead on the road, Palm Beach Atlantic could not hang on in the second half against the Saint Leo Lions, falling for the first time this season on the road Saturday night, 3-2.
The match started off well for the visiting Sailfish, with senior Kenny Hogg scoring his third goal of the season in just the third minute of the contest. Unfortunately, the hosts came right back and tied the score less than three minutes later.
Just before the halftime horn, freshman Hunter Durham notched his first collegiate goal on an assist from Daniel Pena to give the Sailfish a 2-1 advantage.
The second half belonged to the Lions, with the home team outshooting PBA 13-10, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. The game-winning tally came in the 77th minute for Saint Leo, who improved their season record to 4-0.
The 1-1-1 Sailfish return to action on Tuesday afternoon at Magic Jack Field, hosting a key south region match against the University of Tampa.
