ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Despite yet another solid performance by sophomore Haley Adcock, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s basketball team could not hold off their opponent as Flagler College defeated the Sailfish on Friday night by a score of 69-53.

A career-high 21 points for Adcock (Monroe, Ga.) wasn’t enough to push the Sailfish to a much-needed victory over the Saints as the Fish visited the historic St. Augustine campus.

In 36 minutes of court action, Adcock connected on 10-of-17 shots from the field to lead the Sailfish offensive attack. Sophomore forward Sitara Richard (Richardson, Texas) was the only other Sailfish player to reach double-figures on the night as she totaled 12 points off the PBA bench while hitting 4-of-9 shots from beyond the arc.

Brooke Burgess (Palm City, Fla.), PBA’s leading scorer and rebounder, was held in check by the Saints as she registered only six points on 2-of-7 shots from the field while pulling down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Fish don’t have long to rest in time for their next scheduled game which will take place tomorrow afternoon for a 3 pm showdown with Rollins College.
