Men's Tennis Rolls to a 7-2 Win Over No. 24-Ranked St. Thomas University

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish men’s tennis team earned their seventh victory of the season on Tuesday as they hosted St. Thomas University at the Oxbridge Academy Courts. The Fish knocked off the No. 24-ranked (NAIA) Bobcats by a final tally of 7-2 to improve to 7-9.

The Sailfish earned wins in all three doubles spots as Giuseppe Guarnieri and Asti Adams combined for an 8-6 win at No. 1-doubles while Mark Heimberger and Nicholas Battistini managed an 8-3 win at No. 2-doubles. Michael Leonard and Fernando Arroyo provided the spark at No. 3-doubles with a 9-8 (2) victory.

Heimberger continued his solid run at No. 1-singles with a straight sets victory while Adams clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3-singles.

The remainder of the matchups went to pro-sets as Battistini and Leonard earned wins at Nos. 4 and 5 singles as the Fish cruised to the 7-2 victory. 

Palm Beach Atlantic will move ahead to host Ave Maria University for their next match on April 3 at 3 pm at the Oxbridge Academy Courts.
