SKILLMAN, N.J.- After a solid start to the 2013 spring season the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team has moved up six spots from the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings to No. 21 in the NCAA Division II. The ranking gives the Sailfish their highest team ranking in program history, narrowly eclipsing last year’s No. 22 team ranking.

Palm Beach Atlantic competes in the highly competitive South Region where they are 10th amongst the region’s representation in the national ITA rankings.

The top team in the region is Barry University who sits at No. 4 overall just behind Armstrong Atlantic University (No. 1), BYU-Hawaii (No. 2) and Abilene Christian University (No. 3).

The Fish stand directly behind No. 20-ranked Florida Southern who they coincidently defeated 5-4 on Feb. 22.

PBA will host Penn. State-Abbington University on Friday, Mar. 1 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center beginning at 5 pm.
