MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Ashley Dolberry became the Palm Beach Atlantic All-Time leading scorer in a losing effort at Barry University Wednesday night, netting 23 points in the 77-54 loss to the Buccaneers.

Dolberry, who earlier in the day was named to the Capital One Academic All-American team, needed 19 points coming into the night to set the record and had 17 at the half. The senior finished with 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, notching a “double-double” on the historic night.

Unfortunately for the Fish, the long layoff between games took effect on the legs in the second half. After being tied at 30 at the break, Barry went on a 15-2 run to start the half. After cutting the lead down to nine with just under ten minutes to go, the Buccaneers closed the game out on a 26-12 run.

Freshman Kimmi McIntosh had the best game of her career offensively, scoring a career-best 14 points for the Sailfish. Mallory Motyka also chipped in nine points, while Taylor Peterson grabbed seven rebounds.

The Sailfish shot 35% (20-of-57) for the game, but hit just 4-of-20 (20%) from behind the three point line. Barry, on the other hand, shot 43% (27-of-63) from the floor, including 54% (15-of-28) in the 47-point second half.

Palm Beach Atlantic returns to action as part of a double-header on Saturday afternoon, visiting the Eckerd College Tritons, with the women’s game starting at 2 P.M.
