WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Despite great individual efforts from senior Ashley Dolberry and freshman Kristie Mason, Palm Beach Atlantic didn’t quite have enough to top West Palm Beach rival Northwood on Tuesday night, falling to the Seahawks 68-63.
Dolberry tied a career-high 28 points, and also grabbed ten rebounds. Ashley now needs just 36 points over the final four games to become the Palm Beach Atlantic all-time leading scorer.
Mason, meanwhile, had 21 points, including all three of the teams’ three’s, and pulled down a career-best six rebounds.
The Sailfish shot 48% (24-of-50) from the field, but hit just 3-of-11 (27%) from the three and struggled from the free throw line as well, going 12-for-23 (52%). In the end, PBA cut the lead to one point, but the Seahawks made their free throws when it counted most, going 4-for-4 in the final 15 seconds of the game. NU shot 83% (19-of-23) from the charity stripe for the game, and 37% (23-of-63) from the field.
PBA was outrebounded 44-31 by Northwood, and also committed 19 turnovers compared to Northwood’s 17. The Sailfish finished with a season-high seven blocks.
Palm Beach Atlantic has four games remaining on the schedule, but are now off until February 20th, when they travel to Miami Shores to take on Barry University.
