VALDOSTA, Ga. – Palm Beach Atlantic (2-1) couldn’t quite get the offense going on Sunday morning, falling to South Florida rival Lynn (2-1), 8-3 in the finale of the Comfort Suites Classic.

After scoring seven runs in each of the first two games, the Sailfish managed to score their three runs of the afternoon on seven total hits.

PBA once again jumped ahead early, scoring a run in the bottom of the second inning thanks to an RBI single by AJ Steimel, but the Lynn pitching stepped it up a notch, allowing just two hits until the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Fighting Knights used a pair of back-to-back doubles following a walk and hit by pitch to plate their three runs against Jonathan Kies (Loss, 0-1) in the fourth inning. All of the action came after there were two outs in the inning. The Lynn insurance runs came in the top of the seventh inning thanks to five straight hits, including two doubles and a triple.

The Sailfish offense did have a few highlights of its own, with Joel Buchko tagging three hits in four at-bats, including a double and a run scored. Steimel collected two hits in four at-bats, Karl Kapinos had a 1-for-3 day and scored two runs, and Ethan Perla knocked in two runs with a single in the ninth.

Palm Beach Atlantic has a chance to avenge the loss to Lynn this weekend, as the Fish and Knights square off Friday for a solo game played at Roger Dean Stadium, and then again Saturday for a double-header.

The Sailfish return to action for their first home game on Tuesday, taking on the Florida Memorial  Lions at 6 P.M. at Palm Beach Gardens High School.
