DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team continued their busy opening weekend on Saturday by taking on a pair of tough opponents on a neutral court in Daytona Beach, Fla. Up first was a matchup with No. 22-ranked Florida Southern College as the Fish fell 8-1 before a shortened match with The Citadel ended in a 4-0 loss for PBA.

The pair of defeats puts Palm Beach Atlantic’s early season record at 0-3 with a match on Sunday versus Coastal Georgia University still left on the weekend’s slate.

The Sailfish saw a second straight day of solid production at No. 1-singles from newcomer Mark Heimberger who knocked off No. 34-ranked Emanuel Lueber by a tally of 1-6, 7-6, 10-7 in their opening day match versus FSC.

The team’s match with The Citadel ended short as the two programs opted to go directly into singles play with light being a factor in continuing the match. TC claimed four wins at No. 1-No. 4-singles.
