KANSAS CITY, Kan.- With their season now complete with a total of 13 wins and a NCCAA South Region Championship, the Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team will turn their attention to postseason accolades. Three Sailfish players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Region third-team on Wednesday including senior Juliet Waller, junior Andrea Jefferson and freshman Sienna Brooks.
The trio of PBA players named to the NSCAA All-Region team marks the most individuals ever represented in one season as the Fish wrapped up their fifth season under head coach James Kryger.
Waller closes out her four-year career in a PBA uniform with 10 goals as a senior while chipping in one assist for a team-best 21 points. She claimed three game-winning goals for the season while playing a total of 1,233 minutes.
Jefferson earns her second straight NSCAA All-Region third-team selection after winning the distinction following her 2010 season.
The West Palm Beach native and King’s Academy product was once again in the defensive backfield as she played the third most minutes on the team with 1,814 while starting 20 of the team’s 21 matches on the season.
Her defensive work helped lead PBA to 10 shutouts on the season while limiting the opposition to a 0.93 goals against average.
Adding to the team’s good showing on defense was the strong performance of Brooks who came to PBA from Tampa, Florida and Sickles High School.
An athletic and versatile player, Brooks finished with six goals and one assist for 13 points while claiming her six scores despite just 13 shots on goal for the season.
