WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- A total of five Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer players have been named to the NCCAA All-Region team including junior goalkeeper Allison Fox honored as the South Region Player of the Year. The Sailfish claimed the South Region title last week as head coach James Kryger was selected as the Region Coach of the Year.
Kryger’s squad will move on to the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida at the end of the month with a 13-4-1 record for the season while claiming the South Region championship.
Joining Fox on the All-Region team are seniors, Martha Taboas and Ashley Shoaf, as well as junior Andrea Jefferson and sophomore Karoline Harnes.
The Palm Beach Atlantic defense has been a staple of the team’s success this season with the Sailfish limiting their opponents to only 13 goals on the season for a 0.71 goals against average.
A big part of that success has been the play of Fox, a third-year starter in goal. The Naperville, Illinois native has started all 18 matches of the season for PBA while playing nearly 1,700 minutes between the pipes.
She has tallied 75 saves while posting an impressive 10 shutouts for the season.
Taboas and Shoaf have been effective leaders and offensive weapons for PBA on the season with Taboas tallying six goals while Shoaf has posted three goals and four assists on the season.
Jefferson and Harnes have helped lead a strong PBA backline as both players have played at least 1,500 minutes of field time. Harnes has also contributed on offense as well with four goals and a pair of assists.
