Marcus Hardy Named ICAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio- Sophomore forward Marcus Hardy has been named the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) Player of the Week for men’s basketball for the week of November 11-17. Hardy averaged 25.5 points during the week as Palm Beach Atlantic finished 1-1 with a win at Lynn University and a loss at the University of Tampa.
Hardy was joined by Monica Kosier of Daemen College on the women’s side as the weekly recipient by the ICAA. The honorees were selected by ICAA Director Mike Bond. The ICAA for basketball is made up of Daemen, Oakland City University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Salem International University, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Washington Adventist University.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Hardy is in his second season with the Sailfish after averaging nine points a game last season.
His first few contests for the 2012-13 season have seen the 6’7” forward take his game to a new level as he has averaged 21.8 points per game through four contests while also bringing down 7.8 rebounds per game.
Last week saw Hardy average 25.5 points while shooting 61.5-percent from the field and 81-percent (17-of-21) from the free throw line. He poured in 23 points in PBA’s 72-71 win at Lynn then posted a career-high 28 points with eight rebounds in an 85-74 loss at Tampa on Saturday.
Hardy and the Sailfish will be back in action on Wednesday, November 21st at 7 pm versus Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida.
